Word Meanings –

Shoemaker (शूमेकर) = जूते बनाने वाला या मोची
Elves (एल्व्स) = Elf (बौना) का बहुवचन अर्थात बौने  
Poor (पुअर) = गरीब, बेचारा
Edge (एज) = किनारा, अंतिम छोर

Price (प्राइस) = कीमत, मूल्य
Prize (प्राइज) = इनाम या पुरस्कार
Famous (फेमस) = प्रसिद्द
Country (कंट्री) = देश
Coin (कॉइन) = सिक्का  
Rich (रिच) = अमीर, धनवान
Curtains (कर्टेन्स) = पर्दे  
Rags (रैग्स) = फटे-पुराने या चिथड़े कपड़े
Skipping (स्कीपिंग) = रस्सी कूदना
Hop (हॉप) = फुदकना, कूदना
Needle (नीडल) = सुई
Hammer (हैमर) = हथौड़ा
Struck (स्ट्रक) = प्रहार करना, चोट करना या बजाना

Answer – When the shoemaker saw a better pair of shoes, he was surprised at first. Then he sold them.

4. How did the shoemaker become rich?
Answer – The shoemaker became rich by selling the fine pairs of shoes made by the elves.

5. What did the shoemaker and his wife give the little elves?
Answer – The shoemaker and his wife gave little coats, trousers and neat little shoes to the elves.

6. Why did the little elves never come back?
Answer – The The elves did not wanted to be seen by humans, so they blessed the shoemaker and his wife with good luck and then never came back. Furthermore the couple never had made a fortune and never looked back.
