AT THE PLATFORM

 

I. New words (नए शब्द और उनके हिंदी में अर्थ)

Station (स्टेशन) = स्टेशन (जहाँ गाड़ियाँ सवारियों को उतारने और चढ़ाने के लिए रूकती हैं)

Hungry (हंग्री) = भूखा

Clean (क्लीन) = साफ़

Dirt (डर्ट) = गन्दगी, धुल-मिट्टी 

Dropped (ड्रॉप्ड) = गिरा दिया (गिराना का भूतकाल)

Heavy (हैवी) = भारी

Please (प्लीज) = कृपया (निवेदन)

Sad (सैड) = दुखी

 

II. Read and write (पढ़िए और लिखिए)

Answer these questions: (इन प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिये)

(1) Who is arriving by the train?

Answer – Lata is arriving by the train.

(2) When is Lata’s train coming?

Answer -  Lata’s train is coming at 10 o’clock.

(3) Why is the food on the platform not clean?

Answer – The food is not covered. It has dirt and flies.

(4) How does Sneha help Lata?

Answer – Sneha helps Lata by lifting her heavy bag.

 

III. Say aloud (जोर से बोलिए )

Balloon = बलून

Goes = गोज

Village = विलेज

Orange = ऑरेंज

Bought = बॉट

IV. Let’s talk (आइये बातें करें)

1. Have you ever seen a railway platform?

Answer – Yes, I have seen a railway platform.

OR No, I have not seen a railway platform.

2. What different sounds do you hear there?

Answer – I hear many different sounds like train whistle, announcement, hawkers selling, people talking etc.

3. Recall and repeat the railway announcement if you ever heard.

Answer – For kind attention of passengers, train number 1234 is coming on platform number 1.

We reached the railway station. We did not have to wait long for the train. It reached the platform just after 10 minutes. I wanted to eat something because I was hungry. So my Papa bought some fruits. He washed them and said, "Now the fruits are free from dirt and flies and you can eat them." We enjoyed the fruits and the journey.
