Answer – Louie was suffering from autism. It is a mental
disorder that affects children.
ii. Why does Louie need a break?
Answer – Louie needs a break from hard works to walk around.
iii. Does Louie appreciate praise without doing anything? Comment.
Answer – No, Louie does not appreciate praise without doing anything. He likes it when people tell the truth. It is evident from his letter too where he refers about his teacher who was not telling the truth.
iv. Why does not Louie want to go to ‘Social Skills’ or
‘Speech’?
Answer – Louie does not want to go to ‘Social Skills’ or
‘Speech’ because he likes his regular schedule. He wants to be with the other
students of his class and learn with his teacher.
v. When did Louie feel scared?
Answer – Louie felt scared when he was in the preschool. He asked his teacher where his mom was and the teacher carelessly replied that she had gone.
vi. Why does Louie say the teacher is good?
Answer – Louie says that the teacher is good because his current teacher tells him the truth and encourage him to do better when he makes mistakes. He always talks to him in gentle voice. He looks in his eyes. He answers his questions very carefully. He always motivates him by saying that he likes to work with him. Because of all these great things, Louie says that his teacher is good.
