CLASS 5 - LESSON 3 - THE FISH AND THE DUCK

 LESSON - 3

THE FISH AND THE DUCK

I. New words (नए शब्द और उनके हिंदी में अर्थ)

Push (पुश) = धकेलना

Shore (शोर) = समुद्र तट  

Sheep (शीप) = भेड़

Sea (सी) = समुद्र

Seek (सीक) = खोजना

Sell (सेल) = बेचना

Earthworm (अर्थवार्म) = केंचुआ  

shell (शेल) = शंख

Merrily (मेरीली) = प्रसन्नतापूर्वक  

Juicy (जूसी) = रसदार

Trap (ट्रैप) = जाल

Hook (हुक) = काँटा, कुंदा  

Laugh (लाफ) = हँसी, हँसना

Paddled (पैडल्ड) = तैरते हुए आया  

Clever (क्लेवर) = चतुर

 

II. Read and write (पढ़िए और लिखिए)

(A) Answer these questions: (इन प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिये)

1. What was Sumit doing?

Answer – Sumit was fishing.

2. What was Bambi doing?

Answer – Bambi was swimming with her friends.

3. What did Bambi put on the hook?

Answer – Bambi put a King Shell on the hook.

4. Why was Sumit unhappy?

Answer – Sumit was unhappy because he could not catch any fish.

5. What did Ducky Duck really want?

Answer – Ducky Duck wanted to eat Bambi.

OR

Ducky Duck wanted to make friendship with Bambi.

 

(B) Who said: (किसने कहा)

“What a tasty trap”.

Answer – Bambi

"It is a king shell not a fish. How unlucky I am!”

Answer – Sumit

"You are very clever Bambi. Come, be my friend.”

Answer – Ducky Duck

"But I think I am too young to play with you."

Answer – Bambi

 

III. Say aloud (जोर से बोलिए)

(शी सेल्स सी शेल्स ऑन द सी शोर.)

(अनुवाद - वह समुद्र तट पर समुद्री शंख बेचती है.)

Note : The teacher will help the learners pronounce the words correctly.

(B) 1. Was Bambi clever? How can you say that?

Answer – Yes, Bambi was clever. She fooled Sumit and saved her friends.

2. Did the duck really want her to be his friend?

Answer – No, I don’t think that the duck really wanted to be her friend. She wanted to eat her.

3. What would have happened if Bambi had gone to play with the duck?

Answer – The duck would have eaten Bambi.
